Michael Cash was born in Spain and raised in Texas. His path to Brazilian Jiu Jitsu began through five years of training in Krav Maga, which shaped his appreciation for practicality, efficiency, and real-world application. For the past decade, his focus has been exclusively on Brazilian Jiu Jitsu.
Michael is deeply passionate about the technical side of the art—specifically the why behind movements, positions, and decisions. He believes strong fundamentals outperform flashy techniques and that long-term progress comes from understanding structure, leverage, and timing rather than chasing novelty.
His approach to Jiu Jitsu treats the game as a chess match: a system of cause and effect, where small mechanical advantages compound into control. Training emphasizes posture, balance, pressure, and mechanics, with constant attention to how techniques function under resistance.
Michael’s goal on the mat is simple: build Jiu Jitsu that works—efficient, adaptable, and repeatable—by teaching students how to think, not just what to do.
